The thing is... i can sketch (in some way that is) but i can´t really shade... so this is what i am goging to do, in the next few days/weeks. Sketch an shade... need to get those values right!
Feedback appreciated

p.s.
(30-01-04) put up some smaller images, so it is not so bandwith intensive

El_kyrre,

Light and loose is perfectly fine, as long as you make sure to get the proportions right before you "tighten up" or render the drawing. For example, the loose lines on the first drawing are great because it shows how you get to the final lines, but the head is too small for the body (and unless the girl had something like a G cup, the breasts tend to be smaller than the head). Anywho, as far as proportions go, the knee and shin of her right leg should be larger because they're closer to the viewer. The second one is pretty good as far as shading and proportions. My only complaint is that you made the flank pad (that buldge above the butt) too long.

You're off to a good start. I'd personally enjoy seeing you post a couple of face studies (since you seem to be avoiding them in these pics). Good luck and have fun!

Sincerely,
Chris

lookin good dude,
there is something more solid about the line drawing in the first pic than the detailed, i suggest doing a bunch of those "wire frame" drawings. they helped me alot.
keep postin' -steak

Heres a small update!

hope you guys like it!

I appologize, because some of the stuff is in german, but i wanted to share anyways...

I did some research on lips and eyes, because I thought i need more work on that.
It worked out pretty good... learned a lot, by just watchin myself, and analyze what I see.
But this is only the beginning.

The "fat people" stuff is part of a project i am currently involved in, hope it makes any sense, and i also hope that it is entertaining in some way!

And something i did after my research... i hops you can see the progress.
But i also see that i have a long way to go. Need to work on proportion at some time!

Hey van!
thanks for keeping an eye on my stuff!

I am working mostly with PITT artist pen...
it is waterproof indiank ink that comes in different sizes.
I chose the pen because i think it helps me stay focused on the form rather than shading.

Because i want to be able to get the right shape down first, and shade it afterwards.

anyways heres my update for today, nothing much!
just some random doodles.

Hmm. I never thought of it like that. I guess a pen does force you to worry about shape. I suppose it also forces you to concentrate on making perfect lines.

i need to practise coloring...
learn the color wheel, values and how color relates to each other, so i startet this picture of a cave.

I dunno, i was inspired by JoshuaTheJames colorworks... I think they´re beautiful.

Its is still WIP and right now i think it took me an hour or 1.30 to get to this point...

I realized that the greens are to intense in some parts, i´ll have to change that later on.

Anyways hope ypu like it.
crits and comments are more than welcome!
