I know I just posted a thread and if I could delete it I would but I don't think you can, but anyways...
I was originally going to go to LCAD for their concept art program, but the location was expensive AND I live in Georgia.
I'm still willing to travel but what other colleges would any of you recommend for me?
Once again sorry about double posting. :bashful:
(I'm willing to give different options a try.)

Well, if you want to stay in Georgia the most obvious choice would be SCAD.

Flordia's pretty close by, so there's also Ringling.

I don't really care the location really as long it is not expensive to live/stay there.
I'm not sure if I go to scad what major I should take. I know I could minor in game art, but would be a good major to pair that with.
Thanks for all the help!

SCAD has a concept art minor that is designed to fit with either a Game Art and Design (might be called something else) major or the Sequential Art major
One of the Seq. Art profs told me that since the concept art major is new and went through its "test-run" last year, it's more streamlined now, and they're hoping to make it into a major in a few years
I'm leaning towards SCAD myself with a major in Seq Arts and a minor in Concept Art.

I would just like to clarify: you dont get a degree in "concept art"... you can say you want to do concept art all day until you are blue in the face. The reality of it is that everyone does "concept art." I mean this with all due respect... I was in the same boat as you. I thought that I wanted to head straight for "concept art"...
The reality is (if you do the research on the companies) they want you to be specialized in certain areas... character design, environmental design, asset creation, item design, story boarding, animation... etc.
Its really just a can of worms and when you say "concept art" its like the equivalent of of hearing your favorite rock song on the radio when you are listening to the station with your friend, and you just generally say "I like music"... not specifically this music, music in general, because your statement was so broad.
Be good at a few things, try not to master EVERYTHING, and be really good at at least one thing. Thats my advice.
