Hey there, you should try using a hard edged brush instead of a blurry one and put some more contrast in your paintings.
keep it up :)

No more blurry stuff! HULK looks tired... and not angry at all. The one with Joker i think I lost that evil feeling.

Like other
more sharped edges
if you want to do some smooth render, maybe use sharp edges with different opacity levels!

smooths edge for mostly special effects like smoke or whatever else.

Hey there, you might want to keep your images at the 800 pixles wide maximum limit when posting... side-scrolling is such a drag. Anyway, I'm already seeing some nice improvement in your work, but visit THIS THREAD (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=152626) for books that will help you even further. Once you get a few of them under your belt, things should be a lot easier for you. ;)

Hey man, nice start here. I'd agree with more hard edges to avoid that 'dirty' look. Anyways, your work is already improving I really see a lot of progress in that blue Joker painting. Be sure to identify the planes of the face more, where the top, side and down plane of all the different areas of the face are. It would really help make your faces feel more 3-d and overall better. Keep at it!
