Although I don't think I am a good artist, I can at the very least do a decent job drawing the body. However, hair and clothing folds present me with a major problem. I don't think I've successfully drawn those in a way that looks realistic. What are some tips for drawings those?

Realistic you say? Well if you're drawing from reference then just draw what you see as you see it. You see hair, draw it. Frustrating advice to hear, I'm sure, but if you're attempting to draw what you see as opposed to what you think you see then it's all you need to do.

If that still doesn't do it, perhaps you need a little more mastery over your tool? Looking at your sketchbook it would seem that pencil is your medium of choice. Take some time to practice strokes and shading, don't worry about rendering or drawing a subject just keep it abstract. Try different types of lines, maybe mess with crosshatching, make graded value scales, et cetera.

i don't know if you're willing to spend any money on it, but http://www.amazon.com/Vilppu-Drawing-Drapery-Clothed-Figure/dp/1892053101?&camp=212361&creative=383845&linkCode=wss&tag=stsqof-20 that has gotten extremely good reviews as well as comments in it's favour on this forum. Some even claim that they do it as daily excercise.
