View Full Version : On Demand Android Jones LIVE TONIGHT!! Benefit show for Project Hope

Jason Manley
October 1st, 2009, 04:48 PM
Please join us for this very special live painting demonstration and presentation by the one and only Android Jones. We are doing an impromptu benefit show to support the charity Project Hope. Android Jones is going to be doing a live streaming painting directly from Massive Black in San Francisco and it is being streamed to the event which is raising awareness for great causes in Africa.

Things Project Hope does:

You know your laptop and wacom and iphone and tech gadgets all around you? Well those contain minerals like tin and others. Those minerals are being mined out of Africa by unpaid and child workers. Project Hope works with artists like Common and Dave Matthews amongst others to make this happen. Shepherd Fairey is also a big supporter. It is founded by Andi Skull and her husband. He was the first western observer of the Darfur Genocides and is the person behind the documentary The Devil Came on Horseback.

This fundraiser is going to assist Sawa Sawa Fest in Kenya which provides hundreds of jobs to creatives in wartorn Africa and the surrounding region.

Andrew is going to be doing a live digital painting from his Fine Art series and will be showing how artists can communicate to help improve the world with images. Please join us.

When: TODAY (in just a few hours) 7PM Central Standard Time (austin texas time)
Where: Right here on CA.O http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2457228#post2457228

Awesome. I can't find the link in the shop (maybe I'm too early) but if I can still get this tomorrow then I'll watch it over the weekend. I've wanted to see Android paint for quite a while so I'm looking forward to this.
And it's a good cause :yayca:

We are doing this for 10 bucks. I really hope you all will support the cause. It is worthy. Check out www.hopecampaign.org for more info. This is the real deal.

Yep you can totally get this streaming On Demand. It will only be up for a few days. For those of you who have wanted to check out our streaming program and want a taste, the normal cost is 95 bucks for these presentations. This one is basically free and we are trying to raise money for more than just tech around here..but to change the world for the better. Let's do this!

Will he be talking about what he's doing, or is it just a video of him painting? If he's narrating it I might have to join in.

Hey Saskia,

I got that issue with it too. Either try refreshing, or if that doesn't work, click the forum name for the stream when you're in the thread for it and go back into the thread that way... it seems to work then. I think it might be something to do with the redirection it tries at first =)

Hope that helps!

Hello Andrew. That was really cool to watch! You were playing some great music during that live show. You named the different music tracks you were playing during the show and I was wondering if you could post a list here of those songs. Thanks for your time!

If you enjoyed the last tracks of the stream, they were all from I Awake's album The Core (thanks Andrew!), which you can buy here: http://www.psymbolic.com/shop/music/i_awake/the_core/.

Looking forward to grab a print!

Part 2 doesn't seem to be working for me. There's no thumbnail next to the selection for it and when I click on it, instead of playing like part 1 (which I have two 'buttons' for) and part 3, it moves me to another section of the menu with another 'button' claiming to be part 2. This one, however, does nothing as far as I can tell.
Help?

EDIT: It's working now, nevermind. Thanks, CA.

I try to view it, and it tells me the stream is offline, or says, "Sorry this web host does not have permission to broadcast this stream." Or something. (Depending on how I get to it.)

Brought the class 12 hours ago, and have not yet received confirmation to get my dowload/password.
hopefully its because there is such an influx of people buying this class its taking longer than normal. :)

Not fussed really, just glad to help.

go to link http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=190 (the same site as the one given on ur word doc. when u bought and downloaded)

from there, click on the only thread available, click on that - u SHOULD get a video screen. at the bottom of the SCREEN click on "On Demand" and on the right side of the screen u should see 3 chapters of the videos. click and play! :D

ENJOY! *watches*

AdventDawn, make sure you are not using the link in the first post of this thread, it will say "the channel owner has prohibited viewing this channel from this web page". Go here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=170298

This one doesn't work:
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2457228

I don't know why there are two different links. I missed the first hour of the live feed because of it, until I wandered around some more and found the second link. Had to go back and watch the beginning on demand.

Aaah, that's freaking beautiful. And thanks for providing the links to the music, greatly appreciated.

Having a print would possibly be neat, though customs usually makes things difficult. I'm going to see about donating some portion of profits from projects I'm involved in if I can. Thanks for making me aware of the organisation =)
