You've probably gotten a million of these threads already but I'd like to start my own thread for specificity.

I'm 17, currently a student in my final year of the International Baccalauréat program in Lausanne, Switzerland, getting my diploma in June hopefully. I definitely want to go in art, probably concept art or even 3D if I'm brave enough in the future.

What I really want to do first though is to improve my traditional skills TO teh MAX before specializing in something digital. I want to draw all day and learn as much as I can about anatomy, and pretty much make drawing technically effortless/an extension of my mind.

Which schools would you suggest in Europe give something that lets me do as much exploration in simply drawing/painting as I want? I'm probably looking to do a foundation year of only drawing/painting and then I'll do a graphic design course in the same uni.

So far I've got University of the Arts London down as a possibility. What schools have you gone to? What would you say their strengths and weaknesses in this regard are? Please suggest some schools for me. I speak French and English fluently.

That's what I'm doing here at Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy.
Check out the student work at www.angelartschool.com to get an idea of what's done here. We don't learn "art", we only learn techniques that can be used to make art, but they're taught at a very high level.

there is camberwell and goldsmiths. camberwell is more practical and goldsmiths is more conceptual.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, and sorry for the late reply. I've been doing a lot of thinking and checking out colleges and I think that I'll finally opt for one of the UK Colleges. I may have been too quick in saying that I want to specialize on only technical aspects for YEARS because many people have told me that I could get stuck in the want to make things realistic. I'll be having a meeting with my "uni choice advisor" next monday.
