Wow, I don't know why but i've always loved swamps.. some people like snow an forests an stuff, but man, i love swamps.. I sure do like this one too... but i think on the depth / lighting relation, you got a little bit too light, too fast, maybe darken it up a little bit.. but still have a nice strong lightsource..
and maybe add in a creature or two there... or some eyes out of the darkness or some sort of thing to make it a bit more interesting..
Keep it up

thanks for the feedback! I've tweaked it some and added the basics of a figure. Did I post this in the correct forum?

I like the changes, with the added person, and lighting. If you jus made the person from sketch, to finished form, you could put it in the finished work section.
And about forum selection: Though I wouldn't really consider this just a quick sketch, I'd put it in WIP section, but don't worry about it, I think it'l be fine.

hey that's sweet....
I can't put my finger on it but there is a tree limb that is outlined wonderfully, the one that overhangs the center of the swamp, it is in the foreground.
for some reason it makes the tree look real!
anyway, great imagery but there is too much green and not enough foilage and plants to back it up... know what I'm saying?
if you detail that character in the foreground alot, it will look awesome, and can I recommend maybe having some strang creature in the distance, you know something the character can hide from?>
I look and I imagine an orc stomping along the swamp looking for the character :)
nice work...
can I ask how long it took you?>

about 4-5 hrs one evening and 2 tonight. I've moved this critter to the WIP forum so I can work on it a bit more in depth.. I have just started adding in hanging vines and moss and such.. I hope to push in a lot of detail. I am just not exactly sure where to stop.. that will be more my issue. Learning when its done.
thanks for the feedback and comments.. it really means a lot :)
