Hi, everybody!
Amount amazing artwork here is really intimidating but very inspiring too.
I just learning to draw on my free time. Kinda hope to get better at it someday, although I am pretty lazy. Any harsh critique and hints how to improve are greatly appreciated.
All my sketches done with pen and ink on 9''-12'' Bristol Smooth paper with more or less (depending on patience) pencil sketchning underneath with photo reference. I don't know if it is noticeble much without refence but lots of angles and proportions are off (I don't know how to correct that even when I try hard). I also have bad habit not to finish sketches...
Sorry for image quality, it is photo, not scan(

Need inbiased opinion here.
I tried to do sketch of peacock today. Obviosly anatomy needs serious work. However, I intended to place tail of peacock in background regardless the fact that it is anatomically impossible. I trying to do it as an abstract background, not an accurate observation study. My question is if it looks weird and if i should to switch to some normal pose? Here is the sketch

All of your work here is looking great. You've got a great eye for details. Just keep motivated and keep posting.

I think the peacock should come out well with what you're planing. As far as the proportion stuff goes you might want to try using your pencil as sort or a ruler. It you make a point on the page and decide it represents a point on the object then you can figure out how far along your pencil the next point on the figure is and then place the pencil on the page and have the right perportion. It's a crutch but the real benefit from it is less in what you produce than in learning to slow down a bit so you can see spacial relationships unaided. Anyway, good luck.

Nurraymjo, I am thank you for stopping by and for motivating me. I still cannot believe it, because your work is absolutely amazing.
Strange1900, thank you for advice and for a tip. I actually trying to see spatial realtionships but most of the time I fixing one and rest of them fall apart. I do need slow down ). Thank you again
Anyway, tried to do some quick sketches of a duck and horses. Maybe I will evolove to draw humans one day)

Ink Fish, thank you. I think this cat needs still much more work but I think I draw something else for a while. Maybe I'll get it one day.
Nurraymjo, thank you for encouraging me. I wonder how you do such a sharp clean lines in your ink work? At my level it is not seems be humanly possible)
Dustwind, thank you, I am trying to improve
Here are white and black horses revisited. I tried to work on shading some. Anatomy is sucks! My very first nude drawing in ink from reference. Proportions are, obviously, off. I also didn't inteded to shade dark as I did at first, my intention to keep it very lightly shaded but I just don't have control of pen at this point to do it

looks like you can see value and render form out pretty well. i think moving on to charcoal and picking up some acrylics to mess with would be good
i would love to see some really loose and unfinished work
keep it coming !

Thank you for stopping by, Zorcron.
I do think that I need to introduce some color to my work...As for charcoal I never used it because in my high school years I heard opinion that charcoal is not good for learning because being pretty media by itself it tend to made people less critical to own mistakes...I don't know if it is true or not but I never seriously tried charcoal for that reason...Maybe one day! Honestly, I struggle even with pencil

Hey Qwerty, these last few posts of yours are outstanding. Just curious, what kind of pens do you use?

Hey Qwerty,
Thank you very much for stopping by my sketchbook again, I've not been doing much myself lately, but in response to your message; That first picture is a mixture of pen and pencil, and a lot of it didn't come out looking right until after it was scanned and a few adjustments were made. Once it was scanned I was able to really clean it up a bit. At the time I wasn't using photoshop at all, so there wasn't any kind of photoshop-ing done there. The only thing really done to fix it up was adjusting the brightness/contrast, and the midtones which really cleaned the picture up a bit, really making the pen and pencil blend well together.
A lot of times small adjustments will make a huge difference, If I can find the original drawing I'll have to post it to show you just how much.
I hope this helps you a little. Can't wait to see some more of your stuff.

Cat is redrawing in photoshop of an old sketch.
The girl was an attempt to do colors from imagination (the outline of figure itself actually a quick tracing): I am totally don't know that I am doing here
