As the title says, Have anoyone ever thought about what Massive blacks name and Logo represents?
As we know, Their company name is called 'Massive Black' and their logo is a pimped out animal, a cock.
So what happens if we put their company name and the name of their animal logo together? :D

To be fair, one can't really expect people to do a search for "massive black cock" to see if this has come up before. :P

Regardless of the obvious tongue-in-cheek logo play, I always thought "Massive Black" as a singular (minus the cock) was such a very cool name for a company.
I remember, years ago when I was a kid, Commodore (Amiga) ran a competition, which featured in most of the gaming magazines of the time, to come up with a name for their new computer. They stipulated the need for a name that would smack of wonder, growth, expansiveness etc.. (kinda like Microsoft with Vista and Millenium) So imagine my surprise when, some months after the competition expired, the "SAM Coupé" was unveiled. WTF? :wtf:
Regardless of who they are and what they do, Massive Black is such a boss name for a company. Makes me wonder what sort of products a company called "Massive Black" would turn out if it wasn't the MB that we know... sex toys aside.
I bet if there was an automotive company called Massive Black, they would turn out the most devilishly sleek monster concept cars that could only be fueled by the blood of sacrificial lambs (board members) of other automotive companies! :)

Heheh! On the contrary, I'd say that search happens a lot more often than not. :harbl:

Ahh yes, but are the people making this search on the regular, people who have a successful entertainment art company in mind? ;)

Well that's all good and dandy with explaining how MB was started, but maybe it was just my smelling impediment acting up again, but I didn't see an explanation of how the name was chosen in the article...

We discussed it back and forth and narrowed it down to two potential names: Pixeluffagus and Massive Force. It did not take long for us to realize these were horrendous choices.
I LIKE A LOT Pixelluffagus. If someday set up a studio, no doubt it will be called Pixelluffagus.
With Casinos.
And hookers.

I wonder about the T-shirts I see in people's pictures and why they're not in the CA or MB store.

I was always curious about that. Is MB set up apart from CA.org? I always thought MB was a production company for concept art and things like that and CA.org was more the school / website / videos?
So, if they are set up as different entities...buying the MB artbook wouldn't help the site (still nice to buy though! MB needs lovin too!).

which shirts?
The black ones with the cock on it. They're elusive, but I see them in people's pictures from time to time (I guess they sell them at workshops or something?).

They are seperate entities, technically, but that article that was posted did say that MB sponsors things like the CA workshops. So buying the artbook would still benefit the community to some extent.

Yeah they sell them at the workshops... I had two (one with the MB logo, one with the two unicorn design) from the Montreal workshop back in 06, but they got pretty threadbare and I had to toss 'em.. I was expecting to be able to just order some replacements but apparently that's not the case.

Need more trinkets or stuff from MB/CA. Like a keychain or mousepad.
Though it would be pretty awesome if some of the plush artists could make a plush out of the COW mascot. :o
Or a plush out of the MB logo itself! :o

What's wrong about googling massive black rooster, eh? ;) (and the stories about how they got their name is as many as there's nights drunk online, btw... :P )
I was all stoked about ordering some hoodies from here, but it never got properly sorted out, and I never got them. You guys need more of an international adress thingy for sending stuff :P
Need more MB stuff. Put up some trinkets and stuff indeed. Like a sketchbook with the MB logo, more hoodies and tees and whatever Arshes said. PLUSHIE!!!!!!!!!!! ^^
