Hi, everyone. This is my first post here at conceptart.org. Great site. I finished a sculpture using some polymer based clay called Sculpey. It never dries and you can bake it in your home oven!

Hey man I like this a lot! Reminds me vaguely of Charlie Brown's the great pumpkin. Hey how was working with sculpey? Was it easy? I have been curious about using sculpey for a little while. Thanks...good work.

Thank you. I LOVE Sculpey! It's very practical for someone who doesn't have access to a kiln (however you spell it). I haven't had any problems with it yet.

Cool work! I am also curious about sculpey. How is it in comparison to clay?

It acts just like normal clay except that it is a tiny bit oily. That's how it doesn't dry until you bake it.

Hmm... that's really cool. Is it "super sculpey" or is it the same thing or another brand or what..? Because here in Brazil we hear about Super Sculpey, but I also heard that its incredibly expensive.
Nice ghost btw. :)

Thanks. I don't use Super Sculpey. I don't know the difference either. Sculpey is more expensive than normal clay, but it's WAY more conveniant for me to use so it evens out the cost.

Super Sculpey is flesh colored and tends to be harder after baking. Sculpey is white and has a little (though, not much) more flexibility after backing. Both can be drilled, carved, and sanded after baking and sometimes you can even add more on after the first baking and rebake, to fix cracks/mistakes. Hope that helps a bit.:D
