Paint bucket in Painter Essentials 4.0

So for some reason, my paint bucket isn't working like I thought it would in Corel® Painter™ Essentials 4.0. Is it just me? Can someone explain how it should be used? I know it's a rather vague question. Basically I've inked a drawing and now I'm trying to paint it and I wanted a base color in a wide area so I tried to use paint bucket and I ended up with the whole drawing red except two distinct pieces. Kinda strange. Any help would be appreciated.

im using painter , not essentials so it maybe different. if you have tolerance for the paintbucket on the options bar turn it down to like 5. well hope that helps.
