Intensive Sculpture Workshop in New York

We are planning a few intensive five day workshops at the Bridgeview School of Fine Arts in New York City. The first one is Portrait Sculpture and Drawing on October 19 - 23. It is taught by a major classically-trained contemporary artist (trained in Russia)Tatyana Zhurkov, whose work is in the Smithsonian Museum, State Hermitage, Hillwood and other museums. It is a great way to analyze the human head. I've done it myself some years ago, and it helped me a lot. Basically you work from the same model all day, splitting the time between clay sculpture and drawing, so you are analyzing it both in two dimensions and three dimensions. Price is very reasonable too, $475 for five full days with a model. New Workshop scheduled for the Summer.

July 18 - 22
It's a little different this time. In the morning students will study the human figure by sketching from the Greek and Roman sculptures at the Metropolitan Museum. Then, after a lunch break they will continue at the studio, sculpting from a live model.

$475, all fees included.

Materials to be braught by the student including a figure armature and plastiline.
