But now I've got problems, so for some reason I expected you'd want to help. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't.

Spheres are easy. Cubes too. And once you've got cubes, you can do pyramids, and then you can manage cones, and then even spirals.

But eggs!

I've been mashing my face into bird's nests all day, to study them (the eggs) and all I've learnt so far is that their bottoms are essentially spheres. But how do build off of that in any planned, logical way -- fully aware of the volume involved instead of just "feeling it out" on the paper -- eludes me, utterly.

If you find spheres easy you should find eggs easy too. An egg is a sphere that's been stretched a bit at one end. Perhaps if you posted one of your spheres and one of your eggs people could see what was happening, but at the moment I can't understand your problem.

thank you black spot your answer was perfect; by overlaying a simple crosshatch onto a sphere in order to plot the orientation of the second sphere I can accurately point an egg any way that i want to point it. from there drawing a parabolic line is relatively straightforward.

now i can draw me eating cadbury creme eggs in observably non-easter settings, like for example ramadan and/or anapanasati day
