Today's topic is: Creature: Walking Death

sooooo nice topic... I'll definitely do another if I have time.

Anyways, when I was drawing the face it just sort of seemed so indignant, so I had to follow that :D

about 10 minutes in painter

really looking forward to everyone's entries

ok, 2nd attempt, had to hurry it up a bit, sadly.

walking death or walking dead? anyway hope this fits..
http://img8.photobucket.com/albums/v28/Defunct/deadLR2.jpg

I haven't really drawn human anatomy before, I didn't use any refrence (xept for skull) and I sketched it pretty quick (w/ mouse), hence...

Agrajag - Thanks for pointing it out. I tried to fix the left arm a little by comparing with my own, hope it looks better now.

Defunct: That's evil! Very nice =)
His hand appears to be bent or broken the other way round. But if so, wouldn't the thumb be on the other side?

Here's mine. It may not be a mighty death demon from hell, but it walks, right? 8-)

Something Wicked This Way Comes.

I did this at first as an excercise in grass rendering techniques, and it sort of evolved. Lots of smudge tool and fuzzy brush work. I don't really like the moster or the grass, or anything, but thats just because it pales in comparison to the mental image I had. I gave Phantom_head the idea, so I might redo it later with some of her lineart. Yum! Might just give it another shot for the hell of it too.

Al Ian, I love that, really great atmosphere. I've seen your stuff from when you started posting on Sijun, up to now, and I have to say that there is a big improvement. Keep it up.

Juicy Fruit, If you use Photoshop look into using the pen tool. With just my mouse and the pen tool I could do that same pic, only with cleaner and smoother lines, in 10 minutes.

Just a quick "hello" for my 'separated at birth' evil twin brother, Jeroen.

It's about time ... :D

I got a busy weekend, but today's DSG looks like it's shaping up nicely. Good entries so far.

All these grim images made me think of the following story about divorce...

"After Darrell's messy divorce from Daisy, she got the house, the cars, and the children. He was only left with half of their former guard dog team, a toy poodle named 'Death'. She got the rotweiler named 'Taxes.' What had seemed cute before was now only a creully ironic reminder of a string of bad decisions he had made starting with proposing marriage to a woman whose sole contribution to humanity was a dog park in the suburbs."

It is said that on some snowy nights in the woods, you can see a shadowed figure huddling in the cold, with brittle, icy wings. Seeing her brings the promise of a slow death in the frozen wilderness and is a terrible omen.

(The picture is a photo from my house, but the snow sprite is added in in Painter.)

Been wanting to do this one since it was listed, and just got around to it tonight. It's not as clear as I wanted it to be; all the folage behind that thing is supposed to die in it's passing.
