View Full Version : Looking for an art partner

I'm looking for someone to draw with to keep me on my game and hopefully gain a friend out of it as well.

I work a lot and get distracted by being tired and lazy after work. If I had a friend or a partner it would be easier to stay on track and not get distracted because I would have something to look forward too when I get off.

I don't plan on benefiting just me. It would also help you if you decide to join me. You would have someone pushing you to do better. It would also be a little competitive as well. You would gain a friend in the process and boost your skills faster than if you were alone.

I only need one partner. Someone who is on the same level as me. My sketchbook is on my signature if you would like to see it. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions, just post it up and I'll get back to you.

Dude, I'm down! Who else people? Can't have too many friends. haha

We seem to be on the same boat as beginners. I haven't made a sketchbook yet (I mostly just post for announcements). But I will as soon as I get my scanner up and running.

I think you're off to a great start. I gotta get my arse moving too.

Let's motivate/help/challenge/improve/have fun together!

Uhmm, I guess I'm game :) a new friend is always good to have. Plus the motivation is better than what you get at university *BLEAH*.
Hope there's a little room for lil' ol' meh

Well one thing I'm noticing is that there are quite a few people who would like to do this. I don't wanna leave any artists hanging, so here is an idea. We create a sketchbook, or group page somewhere around here and post our daily stuff. Everyday we should stop by and post something, then give a critique about others works. I would try too keep everyone in the loop by sending PMs about where they've been if they haven't posted in a while.

This is just an idea, if not, I can choose a single person or someone else could post more ideas. What do you guys think?

Hey,

Ive been off the scene for a couple of years now (due to work and other issues) :/ and i want to get back into art the way i use to be. Would it be possible for another young padawan to join the group? :) Most of my artwork ive got on here is several years old and not my best but thats not to say i havent gotten alot better over the years, just more motivated now :). So if you're interested, let me know and ill apply my critiques and art to the group. :)

Sounds like an ok idea, though i don't know if that would take away from posting in our own sketchbooks.

No, you could post what you posted here, in your sketchbook as well. I would probably drop by your guys' sketchbooks too and leave comments. And you don't have to post all your pictures in here. Just some.

So are we posting them in here? When would we start? Am i even invited? lol

Would this be a set goals thing? like we all try to draw something on the same topic? or would be like a colaborated sketchbook?

Personally i really want to work on finding a style for myself first and am torn between sketches and working on colours. There are styles i really like but cant seem to replicate or at least dont know how to replicate the technique.

I went ahead and opened a group thread since me and Diaforetikos talked a lot about the group thread and how we want it to be run.

All of you are free to join, do not delay this because the sketchbook for US is open and is official TODAY, so get started TODAY : D

You will find inside a short form to fill out that helps realize your goals and makes sure we can gauge the time to give you before we spammers your ass off for not posting on time. This is a serious effort, so if you join, I will expect posts at the intervals you set forth and that you remain active inside the thread.

I don't like opening threads that die. Makes me feel like a spammer and especially a person who doesn't follow through (that's happened a lot), so, please, take the opportunity.

We will also use OpenCanvas, but it is not mandatory. We are mainly a group that tries to help each other, OC is an auxillary item to help accomplish that goal. There will also be the possibility of homework. See the thread for details. This is to ensure that Person A feels psychologically responsible for accomplishing it. We can also do group projects much like in the Daily Sketch Group were we choose a topic that we must complete at the end of the week. Every one of us.

Questions and comments? Please post them here, not in the official sketchbook thread.

Cheers!
