At the art school I went to, we had some form of life drawing almost every day. Drawing from the model, painting from the model, portrait painting, clothed model, etc were all separate classes. Not that you would get every one of those every semester, but you'd usually get a couple of different ones on different days so that it worked out that you usually had some sort of work from the model most days, and some of the classes were fairly long, a couple of hours before lunch and then a couple hours after.

If you can supplement your school classes with additional life drawing outside the class room you are probably doing well, even if the ones outside of class have no instruction. Just don't be afraid to show the work from outside of class to your instructors and ask for feedback. Your education is in your own hands, so make the best of it!

Thank you very much! Yup I try to make the most out of my time here. Trying to put together a sketch group at lunch as well :D But hearing that makes me can't wait to go else where. Really want to go to Sheridan next year so I can go drawing with Bobby Chiu on Sundays. Just gota keep drawing and put together a bad ass portfolio

I have Life Drawing early in the morning Monday - Thursday for 3 hours. On Mondays and Wednesdays I don't have a second hour class after Life Drawing, so I just stay in the classroom and get another 3 hours out of it. :D Then there is the open painting sessions Monday - Thursday organized by the main oil painting instructor. Though anyone can bring in whatever materials they want, they don't have to paint.

I'm trying to take advantage of all the time I have and not waste those 3 hour breaks by carelessly spending money on food or just sitting in the cafeteria with my head down. Though my back takes a beating after sitting over 6 hours a day on a wooden bench. :P
