This was a quick pen and ink of Sinbad and the Old Man of the Sea I was commissioned to do.
As the story goes, young sailors would get shipwrecked on this island and this old demonic man would ride on their shoulders until they dropped dead from exhaustion.
Fun stuff.

I've been practicing/working on a new approach to simplify my process a bit by just adding flat tones with a bit of embellishment here and there.
I thought I might practice on this and see how it turned out.
Please, crit away.

hey JerMohler, I like your approach on this and how you simplified tones. The style of the sky's very nice, too.
Maybe the skin of the old man is a little too dark? Probably you want him to look like he's living on that isle for ages without any cloth and his skin has become rather dark from the sun, so it might be ok like it is... don't listen to me ;)
But there seem to be a problem with the structure on the younger man's torso. the way we see his right arm and the older man's legs lying over his shoulders suggest that we see them at an angle of... eh... let's say 30°... but his back looks like a total profile view. do you know what I mean? sorry bout my crappy english
keep up the good work!
