Lasso tool in Painter X

I'm new to this program and I have some habits from Photoshop. So I want to ask: is there something like magnetic lasso in Painter, because i don't use a tablet and the regular lasso is almost useless .

Not in Painter X and earlier versions, but in Painter 11 there's a new Polygonal Selection tool used to make straight line selections. It can also be used to alternate between straight and curved selections as needed.

It's not the same as Photoshop's magnetic lasso tool but is an improvement.


Another way to make precise selections is to use the Pen tool, then when the line is completed and the Shape is closed, convert the Shape to a selection.
