new to the forum but i've been watching for awhile and i've seen some great stuff go thru, so i figured i'd throw something i'm workingon up. This is a pencil drawing that i digitally inked(so to speak) and now i'm teaching myself to color--i'm not a colorist but i thought i'd give it a try, so this is where i'm at. I'm not really having any problems in my work, but any crits and comments are welcome

thanks
-J.

Ps:the purple cloth is going to be changed or mostly covered up, just a base color that didn't come out right.

Hey, man I think your off to a great start. I'm not all that crazy about the textured columns in the back, though. If you just toned that down, I think it would help. The linework is very cool, I just wish some of it was thicker or more prominent. Keep going, I like it.

By the way, if you get bored, I'd love to see the linework alone, too.
[edit: oh, n/m, I found it on your www tag]

I dont like the hand holding the sword, it looks incorrect, and didn't seem as defined as the rest. Because its near the foreground of the image its quite important.

MrKayne, has a good point about the linework, some of it is extremely fine and 'weak' looking. A general rule with inking is that objects in the foreground have thicker, stronger linework than those in the background. You don't need to re ink the whole character - just chooose a couple of important lines, edges, details etc and make these more prominant.

Nice style, good to see something that not cliche Marvel or DC style.
