View Full Version : Cintiq 21ux color driving me insane

I'm about to tear my hair out with the color issue my cintiq has been giving me. I've read some other threads about it, but they seem to either come down to the graphics card being the problem (not the case) or the need for one of those color calibrators. Sure, if the two monitors had some slightly different colors, I'd go for it. But this is far more than simply a matter of matching colors. The colors of my Cintiq 21UX that I've had for the past two weeks have been absolutely killing me. Primarily, everything is far warmer than it should be, and everything has a pink hue to it - blacks are muddy and warm, and whites are pink, while other colors seem off altogether. I've set the Windows XP setting of color management to use Cintiq21UX, have uninstalled and reinstalled the Cintiq driver multiple times, and have tried manually adjusting the settings on the Cintiq with little luck other than succeeding in turning everything from bright red to a dull cold blue, which is still terribly off. Here are pictures attached comparing my Samsung monitor with it while they are in dual view, to get a better idea of how bad this "pink eye" of my Cintiq is.

Seriously odd. I'd be going crazy too with that color issue. Just curious did you buy it new? I you did I would promptly send it back for a replacement or fix. Sure Cintiq monitors differ from you main monitor - as all monitors differ from each other. Even my two old gateway monitors which are the exact same model differ slightly, but what you got going on is crazy. Again, if you can, send it back and demand another one or have it repaired. Wacoms carry 2 year warranties so take advantage man.

That's not an issue, that's a seriously defect product. Call up Wacom support for information on how to return it for fix/new one - assuming of course you bought it new and not previously owned. Then i'm not sure how it works, probably depends on where you live :).

Lovely. Well, at least I'm catching this early on and I bought it directly from Wacom brand new just in case something like this were to happen.
