First of all, hello and sorry about my english.
Who are you and what's our project about?
We're a team of 7 illustrators, 2 graphic artists and me as a game designer who are making a "print-and-play" fantasy warfare cardgame called Vera Discordia. "Print-and-play" means it will be freely downloadable as PDF, and then you print and cut the cards yourself (it's a physical, non-digital cardgame). It will be released in Spanish and then English.
The base game is nearly finished. We have no webpage yet, but you can check some finished cards here:

The game has eight armies. The base game will be published soon (before 2010) with 4 armies, and the rest will be released little by little.
We need an ilustrator for the last army of the game. This means drawing 11 illustrations of small dimensions (637pixels width x 666p high). It would be great to have those illustrations ready for January 2010, but this is not mandatory.
If you are interested, we will send you a document with the description of the 11 troops which need illustration. The statistics of the troops and their overall concept are already fixed, but everything else will be at your hands. This means you can give them a unique style or even suggest changes. This is non-standard (non-Tolkien) fantasy, so we are not afraid of trying new things.
How is the army I will have to draw?
The army you'll have to draw is the Zleradainn. They're a kind of amazons which live in deserted areas and have blood-related magic, they enslave people from the desert and make sacrifices. As an army, they're fragile but very destructive. Some of the warriors are male, but the elite troops and magic users are all female. Some of the illustrations may include nudity (you choose).
Even if this army belongs to the "warrior woman" fantasy cliché, we want a mature and realistic approach to it. In other words, we don't want big breasted women with a thong chainmail and sexy pose.
What will I get?
All of us are working in our spare time for the love of it, so we can't pay you anything. However, taking part in this project will get you:
Credit. All your images will be credited, in each card they go and in the game rulebook.
Portfolio. All the images are public, so you'll have material for your portfolio. Even more: we only need your permission to publish your art with a Creative Commons License (NonDerivative, NonCommercial) as part of the game. The rest of the copyright of your art will remain yours. This means you can still make things like selling prints of your art without asking us.
Freedom. you'll have to decide the graphic design of the army, you can suggest changes and influence actively the final drawings (other illustrators have done that already).
