Here a head i modeled for the cgtalk speed modeling thread. A really cool thread since the time required is just some 2 or three hours. This is a head in just over three hours.

1600 triangles, done in Maya 5 without reference just to see how much i know about faces. Seems i have some studying to do for ears, eye and mouth! ;-)
My time limit went while working on the hair so that is not done. Some of the loops are also unfinished and they are not all quad. Maybe later...
Harsh crits wanted.

FRont pic: i think your eyes are too close together. Generally, isnt it supposed to be a whole eye space in between the two? The wings of the nostril seem too vertical to me. They typically flare out and their widest point is towards the nostril opening. Space between bottom of nose and top of lip too great a distance. sides of the cranium should be pulled in, more vertical. Ears should be tucked in behind the jawbone. Ears feel to small. Neck tapers like a bodybuilders where it meets the shoulders.
Profile: Space between the ear to corner of eye seems to far. Forehead looks concave from this angle. Neck might be too thick. Ear could be bigger.
PLEASE dont take this as an attack. You have done a much better job than i could do in a day!! Just giving you some harsh crits to help out. Again this is my opinion so I am probably wrong on some of these things. Good stuff regardless!

Hey Uno,
Thanx for the crit bro, no hard feelings. I asked for harsh crits so i got em. Thnx for taking the time to crit.
The eyes are actually one eye space apart. The inner corner of the eye is a bit pronounced. The eyes are also a bit too big.
I'm not sure what's wrong wth the nostrils, i think you're right tho, they are a little vertical and should maybe be more 'shallow'.
The ear is to me the right size (distance between eye and mouth) but it is definately too far back. The face may be too flat or something.
The forehead seems concave because i tried to enforce the brow too much and actually some people have an indentation of sorts in the middle of the brow. Maybe i overdid it tho.
Good call on the ears being a bit more behind the jaw bone. I was anxious to make them stand out and not be flat like is a common mistake.
Good to hear no comments on the mouth, it was always my weakest point.
The neck: i'm unsure about that. I'll pickup my anatomy book!
I deliberately did not take reference for the picture because i wanted to try how much i knew by heart of the facial anatomy. There is of course lots of room for improvement and i thank you because sometimes i get used to my mistakes and don't see them anymore.
Thnx!

Maybe the nose is too short and that's why the upper lip is too long and the ear too small?

I think that might fix a few things by bringing the nose down a little. Now that you mention the mouth, the corners of the upper lip dont feel natural. Maybe more of a subtle transition into the corners of the mouth. And the part of the upper lip that coincides with that scoop\trench thingy (i dont know the name of it) could illustrate that shape a little better. More of a "U" shape maybe. Sorry for commenting on the mouth.
Again great job. And this was done well without reference as a test on yourself. Maybe i should try this approach sometimes.

I was a little messy with the replacement and the symmetry or careful assymetry is gone :-/ also the dreaded black faces have appeared so i may have to do something about that and cleanup the mess...
