Hello potential employer,

My name is Lloyd and I am a freelance illustrator from the UK. I would love the opportunity to be considered for work. Below, I have pasted my art Résumé and artist Statement and to see examples of my work you can look at my website www.shrunkenheaddesign.co.uk (http://www.shrunkenheaddesign.co.uk).

Résumé
I studied Graphic Design and Film in College and have a passion for all things creative. My artwork has been used in publications both in Britain and internationally and I designed and illustrated for various musical artists and various other clients, including a clairvoyant medium, an interior designer and a monthly poetry festival. I have recently completed a few solo art exhibitions and one group exhibit and I have another planned at the end of the year (Oct. 2009).

I work in a variety of mediums such as water colours, acrylic paint and digital and I find inspiration in foreign films, novels, computer games and other artist's work.

Having been an artist all my life, I am dedicated and passionate about my work and can be found either behind a canvas, sitting at my desk painting digitally or making a lot of noise behind my drum kit.

Artist Statement
As a child, I was infatuated with mythological creatures, beasts, phantoms and aliens. Their fantastical prowess portrayed in films, books and computer games captivated me and left a lasting impression on my mind. The worlds in which they dwelt, be it completely imaginary or alternate versions of our planet, filled me with wonder and sent my imagination to dizzying heights.

As an Artist, I indulge in my love of fantasy and science fiction creatures & their settings by painting and portraying them in the same light I saw them in as a youngster. Not as frightening or evil in essence, but much like Frankenstein’s Monster, just misunderstood.

With my work, be it metaphorical and stooped in symbolism or character and narrative driven, I created it with intention to convey and share my love of these other worldly beings, to connect with the viewers and show them an intimate beauty in what is classically seen as ‘ugly’ or ‘abnormal.’

I thank you for your time and I hope you have enjoyed looking at my work. I look forward to your reply,

with regards,
