I'd like to see a "Draw This" section on this site. not like the dsg, but something that says:

"illustrate a scene where 2 oposing barbarian leaders are meeting in a tavern with their onterage to discuss a problem thats so important that it might be the end of both their clans"

or

"illustrate a scene where the battle has been won. your main character is an elderly worrior scanning the battle scene with great sadness and regret"

or

"a prison break is about to go down and you have 3 guys meeting in a broom clauset discussing the plan, and they dont fully trust eachother just yet"

that way people like me could take a look from time to time to get ideas for a new piece, or just to get a topic that will challenge them.

i dunno, thats something i'd like to see.
i'll post a poll

well, i think this would make a good 'Comic page" dsg, like instead of "god of love" for a topic on dsg, something along the lines of wat complete2 is saying, i dunno, might be fun:)

I love your idea complete2, I've always loved the dsg, and i still do, but it's not as indepth as I'd like sometimes. The dsg is for specific concepts as Shadow mentioned like "god of love" or for example like "a lich king" or something.

My favorite DSG's were always the open ended ones where the topic was a quote or something intangible.

But what your idea suggests is drawing a picture to fit a scene, and an environment, something that a conceptual artist should be able to do IMHO.

If something like this could be implemented into CA.org that would be awesome I think...

I think this is a great idea. Perhaps it could be done as an extension of the DSG, but on a weekly or monthly basis, so there is more development time involved instead of just cranking something out quick, which is fine. But I like to be able to create something that has some meat to it from time to time as well.

I'll vote "yea". Let's do it.

Yes I agree completely with Proudest, and I also like the idea that users could submit their own idea's. I'm always looking for inspiration, and would love to try and draw some other peoples idea's. Would be awesome :)

At any rate, you have my vote, start one, i'll join!

why a comic book page? i think you should be able to convey all of this:

"illustrate a scene where 2 oposing barbarian leaders are meeting in a tavern with their onterage to discuss a problem thats so important that it might be the end of both their clans"

in one illustration. thats the whole challenge, to tell a story with one image. so yes, it would have to be a more finished piece Oregano because you'd need the time to get it good enough to truly get the point accross.

Huh? Sorry, your response isn't making sense to me. I wasn't asking a question, I was agreeing with the idea and suggesting a possible time frame for development of the concept.

you misunderstood my statement, i didnt mean that as an answer to a question, i was just reinforcing what you were talking about with whole 'time frame thing.

:)

So, do you guys want to formulate this or something? I think it's an awesome idea. We could come up with some ideas on it together maybe

IM me on AIM sometime: Wormox89 or just PM me.

So yeah, drop me a line

Complete2: I agree, i said comic page, but i was thinkin pic with storyline, sorry:p I think this may, if we want people to actually do the pic, have to be a daily or bi-daily dsg, rough so ppl can really get down the idea. Mabye every 2-4 days a moderator could pick a pic story from a list, like dsg, and you'd have that time frame in which to complete the pic.:)

"a prison break is about to go down and you have 3 guys meeting in a broom clauset discussing the plan, and they dont fully trust eachother just yet"

i took this idea and did a quick concept sketch druing my lunch today:

my friend liked the idea and did a quick sketch of his own to show me what i did wrong, you know, how i wasn't really showing enough info. here it is:

http://img13.photobucket.com/albums/v38/glasse_of_dust/prison_closet2.jpg

his of course gets the point accross better, and has helped me see other options. his storytelling is better. thats what i need to learn.

anyway,
thats kind of an example of what i'd like to see.
