What would happen if you were in a room in the center of the earth with a low temperature? Would you get crushed or float around mindlessly?

Can you repeat the question?

Maybe i could use the pressure to get crushed ice for my cocktail. Hmm… Alcohol…
Then i guess i would get bored pretty quickly and go watch the simpsons.

You'd float around. The gravity from one side of the earth would cancel out the gravity from the other side so it'd be like floating in deep space. So technically the pressure wouldn't kill you, because air pressure simply comes from it's weight (without gravity there's no weight). Of course all this assumes that the extreme tempertures could be controlled.

Nice..

That all depends on what the pressure inside the room is.

Do you mean the room has a low temperature, or you do?
Are you assuming its molten core or hollow?

If you mean the core is low temperature, then you would be encased in solid rock going nowhere.

float I think assuming the molten lava didn't disintegrate you.

Float also if its hollow.

Alright, if you dug a hole strait thru the earth. And you jump thru, what would happen once you got to the center? Would you just stop, or keep falling up? or what? ahh its so confusing!

Alright now, if you were in the earth's core the gravitational force would be so strong that you would be crushed and forced into the smallest, tightest, and most dense trash compactor cube possible. Gravity and pressure increase as you get to the center of a sphere, right?. Now if by some miracle you could hollow out a nice little house in there, and assuming you kicked out the ravenous mole-people of course, your mass would be equally claimed by all directions leaving you floating in the center. Whoever visited you would be stuck there eternally by the force, which could be a bad thing. You might want to leave some mole-people for taking care of those unwanted guests.

Is anyone else thinking of a certain "angry beavers" episode here? That must have been the most disturbing piece of animation ever.

OMG, i forgot all about the angry beavers, that show was great. Just like Rocko's modern life, and Doug. Doug was my favorite.

i wish my house was down there.. but in a pressure controled livable temperature with elevators out. somoene else built this of cours. People could pay to jump down and then get pullde out! Moneymoneymoneny! Oh! I know! the mole people could build it for me! Ha ha!
