Shape... so hard to find those sweet shapes. But im getting closer. Heres the newest walker:

And heres the old one, with a nu paintjob, dunno if its actually any better:

And for kicks, here are the sketches I drew over.
Painting over scanned thumbnails REALLY works for me.
Truly recommended.

Me like. Your style of coloring does remind me of prometheus's style, though.

Prom has been a great influence in my coloring, I gotta admit I owe him allot. Seeing his wacom art has really got me going. He and Chiang have by far been my biggest heroes lately.

It looks as good as if its made with markers, and still it goes faster, I love this technique.

Im glad you liked it btw!

(about the second one) It's cool that it looks like a hand. I'd say that most of the forms are well rendered, but I'd like to see the front left leg pulled out from the image a little more. It'd be easy to do by adding a very light white around it on the body and front right leg.

Hey Tekno, truly agree, the front looks kinda flat that way, I'll see what I can do about that leg. thanks for pointing it out.

Heisuke, thanks, cant say it was my idea originally though, but either way it works great. I always preffered drawing small thumbnailish stuff with pencil..

I think the style of coloring you use works well. It IS reminiscent of Prometheus's style, but that's not a bad thing. Your ships and machines are always great. Nice stuff!

Theo, looks great man. Do you have any process shots, or progress pics you could post of these beasts? What is your coloring process.. brushes etc?

Your markers have a transluscence that make it apparent they are markers. The wacom stuff all feels like paint to me. Probably because it is so opaque. Thats deffinately a good thing. I am constantly struggeling to get my work to not look digital. I really like your designs on your site. Those freeway road changes are pretty crazy too.

I came to this thread assuming this had something to do with concept work for the miniatures combat game of the same name.

But these are still pretty frickin' awesome. :)
