You're design stuff is pretty boss! You also have a very good grasp on the whole "negative space" thing my Graphic art teacher droned on and on about. You have a talent in an area that I'm a complete doofus haha.
Still felt I should comment and say great start and keep posting! :)
EDIT: On a side note, your watercolours are the bee's knees!

Hey man, you have some great ideas, you'll do great in illustration i'm sure.
Only thing I'd say is that some of the paintings are looking a little flat. Try and get more range in the tone maybe? Like really darken the darks and lighten the lights - like in this (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=762528&stc=1&d=1251313860) one.
Definitely keep em coming!

Great SB so far! I second the value comment above me. I think a exercise is doing studies of objects from observation. They can be quick pencil sketches, you don't have to spend days on them or anything. Just try to observe the range of values and recreate the illusion of a 3-dimensional object. Even if it's not your intention to paint in a realistic fashion, understanding how to use value to your advantage will help your work immensely. Keep up the good work! ;)

I can see you definately have some talent, which makes getting into art school a bit easier! :) Honestly though, art schools generally just want to see figure and still life studies, so find some life drawing classes or just do many studies from photos. Still lifes are easy as you can just set up anything you have lying around the house and do your best to get your drawing/painting to look as realistic as you can. Practice will make perfect. Good luck, but I dont think you need it, just put in the time and youll get there fosho! :)

hey, here are some news from me.
smokenmirrors: thanks for the encouraging words. i started to do still lifes recently, hoping to get better in my values. i posted two in this post.
i started taking photos of all the 45sec poses that i had accumulated, but then i thought, nobody wants to see ten pages of crudley drawn poses. so i'l just post some from today.
the girl throwing a punch is my take on this weeks chow.
then we have four new acrylic portraits and, as you guys suggested, i started doing value studys.
