hi guys, i have seen this question partly answered before on these forums but it doesnt seem to deal with lines above the horizon. this is the method im referring to:

my question is, how can this be used (if it can) with lines above the horizon, like if i were trying to set up this image:

i really appreciate any help you guys can give me

You do the exact same steps, except its above the horizon. Flip the page upside down if you don't understand.

thanks. but just to be clear, i'm talking about doing this when there are lines both above and under the horizon. would just flipping it work then? i can kind of imagine the two lines, above and below, not meeting up on the horizon unless there is some kind of precision involved some way

You create equal spaces based on distance from just single angle. Then if you put them above the horizon line, it will still be correct and the lines above based on those spaces will sit correctly in whole perspective.
If you mean starting from two pairs of angles (in step 2 of that "Simple method") then those have to be correct in the first place and meet in the single point on horizon line.
If they are correct (assuming that you used some big ruler and extended piece of paper to construct them) then the equal spaces can be different below and above the horizon line. But then it would make things a little bit complicated.
Hope that makes sense.

Yes the trick works for lines both above and under the horizon. As long as you follow the rule of equal subdivisions on each side, etc, the lines will all intersect at the same point.
