Here's some stuff that was inspired by another concept org artist. (Sorry, I forgot the name - If I find it i'll post it! Hope you don't mind <3!)

The first of your sketches were amazing! And so much that it took me awhile to look through it. :) But I get worry, I understand it's a sketch book but your newer sketches feel abit lacking in the same passion as the first ones. Either way keep up the awesome sketches!:cheerleader:

Thanks for your concern, and comments. :) I didn't pick the topic for the most recent sketches, and so I was finding it really hard to find inspiration. But I will keep working at it :)

Hey Ephelea nice update. Its good to see what you've been doing. My favourite is the head turned in different positions. There's a really nice flow with your lines in them. Hope we get to see more from you soon. :)

So, I'm continuing on in my working with sketching. I try to keep myself to sketch at least a little. everyday. Even if it's just doodles. Music usually helps too. :P
These are all studies from photos.

Hello Ephelea
I can't really fault your work, it's pretty good so far.
What I could say though is perhaps let's see some male studies.
Also, you could try cleaning up stray lines and construction lines perhaps, that could help for presenting to clients and for industry though, just a thought.
There is something else but I can't remember what it was now.
In any case, let's see more-ish!!
Keep well.

Bridgman studies :D I got 5 books for christmas, from my mom - who has been amazingly supportive and I thoroughly appreciate it.
I took it upon myself to keep searching for more books (anatomy, digital painting..etc.) after looking at some of the things people have said in the sketchbooks here on CA. I want to better myself, and am more than happy to receive any, and all critique.
(not sure how I got a repeat attachment :o interesting!)

Hiya Ephelea!
Some decent study work here, if I were to give you some advice then it would likely be to try to keep your pencil a bit sharper for the lines which are closer to us. Overall the work appears a bit on the blurry side for me, but it's still reasonable because of the relative contrast between lines.
I suppose the other bit of advice is just to keep doing what you're doing. =)
Keep well.

Hi Ephelea, so glad to hear you got books for Christmas. They are a great gift and I bet your Mum is really pleased to see how much drawing you've done from them already. Well done for being so motivated :)

Kungfoo: actually, I switch between pencils quite often. I don't care for extremely sharp ones when studying or sketching, I just go with whatever I grab. Lately, 6b and 7b's so I can't erase and I have to just keep pushing forward. But I do thank you, for the comments and the advice. :) And the encouragement.
Marian: Thank you as well, pleasure to see you here again :P

Really dig your bones studies. I think though maybe you could use a tiny weeny bit more confidence in some of your line work. Life drawing studies help a lot. Especially timed ones. Keep it up!

Granny, in keeping with tradition "NO U ROOOOOCKKKKKKK!!! " but otherwords, ty sir. I appreciate the encouragement.
Greywoods, Thanks. I agree that some of my lines and work seem less confident than the others. I've been told that before. I had a friend who was an animation student who studied with some other gentlemen, and we used to hang out after work at a coffee shop. And he'd tell me to just do quick strokes, and stop being afraid that they'd be wrong. lol.

Hey,
After looking through your latest work, I think you could work a little bit on your quality of line. In the first piece, it's confusing sometimes to understand the form. You could tidy up the lines a bit to make the drawing read better, as well as introduce clearer overlap and varying width of your lines to create depth.
The anatomy of the hand where the chap is holding up a mug feels a bit weak, I think you could do some further study of hands for this.
I like the perspective studies, I think these are my favourite, they read nicely as thumbs and this is a good sign.

I totally get what you mean about my quality of line. It's something I do intend to work on :) Not that when I draw there is no 'line quality' but that my overall drawings are too sketchy. I don't go over them to clean them up. Someday, I won't even have to think about it - but the getting there, it's slow. lol.
Holding up a mug: I'm not sure what you're referring to?

Yay. second page! I've only shown this to one person so far - I had a teacher tell me that learning a more disney style of drawing would be lucrative. So, I'm easing my way into the disney mood with a little mermaid painting!

Hey not a bad painting so far, it's difficult to assess without any detail in it. But it's a reasonable start imho.

So, I've been exponentially busy with work, and trying to figure out where to move in the next few months. Do I want to move to Austin, TX? Concept art does quite a few things there. Do I want to move back to Cali - the hub of all that is video games and development? Do I want to go to Seattle, be closer to half of my siblings? No idea. And school. I'm doing 3d-modeling and texturing this term, next is speech. So, my outlet has been diminished to painting rusted metal. Here's what I've done lately - some of it is from my "Storyboarding 2" class:

Hey, looking okay.. perhaps use some more reference in your storyboarding panels. Also I think when you're doing those, you gotta punch out the visual side of things imho, like paint/draw -how- the sword swings from side to side, instead of just writing it..
Keep on keeping!

Hey babes!
Yip.. it's been a while, I thought you had vanished for good. =(
Your stuff is looking good, the most noticeable thing for me is your values need to be more to turn the form. Okay cool, you have a nice style, so please keep going. =)
