Hey, I like your style. Your concepts remind me of mine :)
Only thing is is that you have a very loose style and I can see that you are very good at just pumping out ideas.
Very impressive concepts.

this is reallyreally awesome stuff!
but i don't like this nazi-pirate-character. i think the swastika isn't a symbol that fits to heroes...

Great stuff - I really like your drawing style. Very expressive!
What medium(s) do you use or is the colourwork completely Painter/PS?

(And I´ve got probs with the Swastikas, too. Seems to be a built in german reflex :))

just to let you know swastikas are more than just a german third reich symbol. hundreds of years before hitler was ever a thought in his daddy's head. the native american were using swastikas as a symbol. just an fyi to some of those who give the swastika a bad image. just as many narrow mind people view a peace sign as a bad symbol, beleived to be a cross with the arms chopped off, created by tripping hippies of the sixties who supposedly lived in sin for many of the things they did.

actually the swastika has been used in some form by many cultures in the past--native american, indian, asian, ---the fear though is that if you take away the meaning it has now by using it for other purposes then future generations may forget about the holocaust. Not forget entirely--but im sure the people that were involved in WW2 and the holocaust dont want anyone to ever forget-- its a reminder of the possibilities of our species in other words--so its not narrowminded--we as humans have a dendency to forget about past atrocities and recommit them.
just a diff viewpoint--ty

thanks for that insight as to what I basically just said!
I guess I could have listed every culture that has used it but I was only using one as an example but thanks to you for repeating what I just said with a little more detail as to what cultures have used it.
also I don't remember asking anyone to forget about the holocaust
lastly you said if you take away the meaning it has now, do you really know what a swastika stands for?
just so you know it is the oldest cross used in the world it is four L's put together in a certain form meaning life luck love and light. dates all the way back to 315 BC. the nazi were the last to use the symbol and defaced the entire meaning of the swastika.

well, as long as we agree then....
i went to this art show recently and an artist had done a warhol-esque piece with four squares of different neon colored swastikas--and a girl was walking around the show with one of his shirts that had a neon swastika--and i asked a friend i was with what he thought of it. He said he liked it because it was defacing a defaced symbol--but then i started thinking about it--and i was thinking "is that a symbol that should be defaced again--or should it be a constant reminder?"
sorry if i offended you--i just thought you were saying in your post that people should use the symbol whenever they want because the original use wasnt by the nazis-and i think because it has so much social baggage it takes a little handling with care--you know?--
but again--im just one mans opinion
i think we are on the same page--ty
I WILL START A THREAD IN THE LOUNGE ON THIS SUBJECT
id really like to get peoples opinions
