2D Background/Foreground Artist Needed. $1000

I'll be writing one $1000 check. That will be $100 per piece.

The deadline-- I'll need an audition piece by Saturday night. Please ask me what the piece should look like.

c_robin - maybe try going with an artist who has environment art like you're looking for already in their portfolio instead of asking them to do a test for you on spec.

I've browsed many many portfolios which include environmental works.

Almost none of them have been in a style that would make me say "I want that right there." Luckily, many artists are very talented and able to interpret my (vague) ideas and give me a quick example. I originally offered $25 for this, but I'm not willing to do that for any more applicants. It would be insanely expensive.

I've almost made my decision, and I think (and hope) that this has been a good experience for everyone involved. But if you could give me any advice, I might be able to learn something for next time.
