Started with a few sketches a few nights ago just idea fishing.

And I wound up with her. The style I've discovered is to eliminate prettiness (something I can't stand) and replace every part I can with a raw, unrefined, gruesomeness.

I'm fairly new to the whole digital painting genre, but I plan to put quite a bit of work into her (it'll be along the lines of my 5th attempt)...

She has no name yet.

i like it dude. I would also like to see this coloured by the colour hints you have placed along your work. Damn good surface effects on the metal.

good work.

Apart from her expression, I don't think that you've elimated much prettiness. Her face is relatively normal looking, I don't see any scars, wrinkles or blemishes on her skin.

Plus her armour looks in very good, clean, undented condition. Has she just been in a fight? Did she win easily? Is she hurt? She obviously looks like a warrior, but not a battle hardened, worse for the wear, been through hell, type of warrior.

To make her a more raw, unrefined character you need to push the appearance abit more. Does a warrior woory about her haircut? Would she just shave it all off or tie it out of the way? Does she have any previous battle scars? Has her armour been used in battle before? Has the armour been damaged? Would she have blood stains etc on her from battle?

You have the basic pose and armour, now push it to achieve the raw look you want.

All good points that I'll address. I had planned to beat the armor in Paint and you're right, she isn't scarred enough. She has a banaged gash on her right arm with blood draining don her hand, but I think a few scars and a fresh cut on the brow would do a little more. Thanks for the critique.
