Hi,
This is a sort of a quick concept of a snake demon I'm going to model in Maya. The model is going to be real-time...about 5,000 polys. Here is the pic. Let me know what you think. I still need to touch it up a bit and refine the image.

Dont you think the actual face could be more snakelike?
I dont know anythin about the project, so I really shouldnt be critting. Its a real nice render though, I like the subtle green underglow.
cool concept, feels kinda lion-snake to me, but hey, thats cool:)

Yeah the legs have a real lion(or similar) look.
Maybe if you extend the eyebrows more, enlarge and bring them back into the head it'll give a more snake-like feel, maybe flatten the nose a bit... if that's what you're going for..
hope that helps
Nice clean sketch :)

looks like the linework is pretty well established here. you say 'quick concept', so i'm guessing there will be more concepts.
in these new concepts, try to make the beast more slender. this concept appears to be encased in thick platelike armor. makes sense to a certain extent, but most of the time demons seem to be pictured fully armored or fully unarmored.
push the snake form. again, slender. long, thin limbs. possibly add a hood motif of some sort, like a cobra. give it a longer, more obvious tail.
the jagged lines above the eyebrows and around the torso seem to suggest fur. to really drive the snake aspect home, this thing should look scaled, not furred. on that note, the skin looks relatively smooth. suggesting some scales would do wonders for the concept.
the feet do indeed look like something you'd expect to see on a mammal. again, make it more slender, make the talons a bit more obvious.
other than that (it's a lot of crap, i know), it's pretty cool, should translate to 3d pretty well. good luck, and post more pictures.

That is cool and I like what you've done to date. If you are only going to make slight modifications to this one, the deltoids/bicepts need to be a little bit larger. I'm not convinced that they could support the lower arms.
I tend to agree with malicious comments if you are trying to make this more of a snake based character.

Thanks Guys!
It's been very valuable reading your insights on this image. I will make the necessary adjustments. As for it being more lion-like, I guess I was subconsciously going for that look too. I wanted to incorporate more of a mammal feel to it because I wanted it to inherit some sort of brute strength to it's fighting abilities.
I will start adding hints of scales on it's armor. I guess the name "snake demon" was a bad choice of words. =) It's not exactly a true snake but maybe some freakish amalgamation of mammal and reptile. In any case, thanks for your wonderful comments. I will post more soon.
