I don't know what to expect in the way of prices, but I was hoping that some artists could maybe give me quotes or something.
...or at least point me in the right direction so I can repost this in the proper thread.

Basically, I want a single picture of an underwater city in the distance, but maybe with something small in the extreme foreground to emphasize scale.
And I would like a decent amount of detail in the city, so it might have to be a bigger piece.

Depending on how much funding would be needed, it might be closer to the end of the year before I would realistically be hiring someone.

thanks.

Not enough information to give any decent guidelines.

What is the eventual usage? Does this need to be a physical painting, or is a digital file useful? What size would the finished product be?

I want it for a website I'm planning and a physical piece would be nice, but digital could also work.
I don't know what size would be best for a physical work, but ideally for digital I'd like HD resolution (1920×1080) ...or something close.

Right after the style of art, though, I'm really most interested in what people would charge for whatever sizes and mediums that they want to work with.

lack of interest has definitely delayed this project...

Sometimes it's useful to post an exemple of an image with similar style/level of detail. Even if it's of a different subject matter. "Decent amount of detail" is highly variable and the level of quality you are expecting varies too. Basically there is no "one price" for art, you could ave quotes now and then ask later and other artists would answer and noone would give you prices for as low as the first time, or sometone very good ut cheap would post. It's hard to tell...
