thats really good madpencil. I noticed you have been asking about how to get into sculpting here.. does that mean this is your first sculpture? if so thats a really good first sculpture.

Thanks! yeah it's my first. I learned a great deal from doing this one. It's very similar to drawing actually so it's very exciting. I kinda like the idea of not painting them and just have a portfolio of unpainted pieces. Actually if anyone can advice me as to what the best paints are to use with sculpey I'd appreciate it. I like the non glossy paints. Any sugestions?

that's great! it's your first, wow!
there is a sculpy called premo that comes in colors. you can get it in gray and it does not have the translucency that super sculpy has. makes for seeing your detail and finish better.
make more, make more!

Thanks a lot Jon I appreciate your comments and advice, I love your space boy by the way. I plan to take on another piece soon. I'll look into the premo stuff.

Smoothing it? Someone sugested Lighter fluid, other people sugested turpenoid. What do you guys think? can you smooth it further "after" baking? or do you just sand it?

I am the same way about my sculpts man (having a portfolio of natural colored sculpts) so...you're not alone. If you are ever gonna paint....I find Acrylics work the best, and some use cel-paints I believe. (paint used when painting animation cels) Keep at it man...practice makes perfect....it's a good thing that it's fun....so it's not hard to practice. ;)
