I've been playing with a few ideas to try and bring something new into my artwork. This character was drawn in pencil, colored with oil pastels, then inked digitally as well as some digital adjustments to the colors. I'd love to hear your opinions on this. I like it quite a bit, but I have a tendency to attach myself to new things simply because I haven't done them before.

I love the colours and shading on this piece. Nice looking character - feels like a cross between Earthworm Jim and Buzz Lightyear.

Are you going to use this character for anything, because the one hassle I can see is the lack of anything "human" in the facial/head area. Not saying that the robot needs to look like a human, but that create many different emotions may be extremely hard. If your great with body language and hand gestures - you may pull it off.

As for materials and techniques - use whatever works - It's the end result that counts.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, this robot probably has more personality here than it will ever need to in the story I have for it, but your point makes great sense.
