Hi everybody,
I am opening this sketchbook because I want to learn really how to paint now. I also try to work on my drawing skills but my main goal is to get better in painting. I hope update this thread nearly daily because I can only improve if I paint every day.

A few words about myself: I am 22 years old, male and I am studying "communication design" in Essen, germany where I come from.

So let's get this sketchbook started, here is what I did today. I could not finish the first one because the sun went to fast ;) I used Photoshop and a Wacom tablet.

Nice drawings you have there, you made these all today? Pretty impressive work you have there.

Your shading is good, but don't be afraid to throw in some dramatic values--light lights and dark darks. Sometimes a little outlining makes all the difference as well. Keep drawing, yo.

Hi amoh,

Sweet glossy head! To be nitpicking- the form of the far eye was a bit confused, that band of shadow too thick maybe.

Thanks for you comments!

Demon Lizardman: Thanks, yes I did them all that day but I had no time yesterday to paint this much :(

Tobuoi: Thanks, I will think of you tip :)

link_choi: Thanks a lot! Your nitpicking really helped me out. I corrected this ;)

I had not much time to paint yesterday but I worked a little on the glossy head study and did some second small study.

Sooo... finally I have time for an update. I am in Budapest now and I have no Internet here. Now I am sitting in a cafe with a free WLan. I am trying to make sketches and watercolor paintings of the architectur here, I hope I can upload them later.

I have started a new stilllife, this time with 2 objects, also I am adding a watercolor I did here in Budapest at the RedBull air race.

Jizu: Thanks for stopping by :) I am trying to keep the Sketchbook updated :)
link_choi: Thanks a lot! For now I call the head finished and work on another piece. I just did not want to take it with me to Budapest ;)

Hi,
this is a study of a small building here in Budapest I did today. I used watercolors and then fotographed it.

Hi everybody,

Just a small update, some studies of my room, a small sketch for a illustration and a caricature for a client.

I am trying to get better with values now. Then I will get back into color.
