What material is this piece made from? It reminds me of sails, but I can see thorns. Cool. What is that finish. It looks like you went from clay to metal, is that correct?

It looks like you worked over the thorns with a grinder, was it because of rust? I like the forms, I just think that maybe next time the textures should be more uniform, what with the base being ungrinded (unground?). That way the whole piece will pull together.

like it a lot. clay is a material i really need to get into. i saw a lot of great stuff at the RCA grad show ealrier this year!
