I really enjoy this one. Lots of nerdy references, cute characters, naughty jokes, and quite a few story arcs. This panel seems appropriate: http://www.collectedcurios.com/sequentialart.php?s=528

I actually keep up with a ridiculous number of webcomics. A lot of them are kind of nerdy, but here are a few recommendations:
XKCD (http://www.xkcd.com/#)
Dinosaur Comics (http://www.qwantz.com/index.php) (probably my favourite at the moment)
Wondermark (http://wondermark.com/)
Hark, A Vagrant (http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php)
Also, Garfield Minus Garfield (http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/) is an amusing concept, and I second Taneli's Perry Bible Fellowship recommendation.

thanks you guys. Why is it that the most popular genre for webcomics seems to be Geeksploitation. There's nothing really aesthetically driven. I have found a few really cool funnies though like Red Meat http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/ and Crying Macho Man http://www.josecabrera.com/index.php?date=2008-01-09
This is a bad ass Flash Comic from like 03 or 4, but I haven't seen on since. I'm not sure if it was a success. It appears to have given birth to a dead medium:(

If you're looking for something with a bit more visual flair, there's a pretty good (albiet defunct) webcomic called "A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversable (http://www.alessonislearned.com/archive.php)". I'd also recommend "Gone With The Blastwave" as another good-looking comic, but that seems to have recently disappeared from the internet altogether.
As for crazy flash comics, I remember someone here linking to this one about a year ago: http://www.nawlz.com/

Nawlz is pretty damn trippy. I really like the production value. If I weren't an artist I probably wouldn't get it, but since I am this is very satisfying. I wish there was more work of this quality around.

No one mentioned The Order of the Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html), or Full Frontal Nerdity (http://nodwick.humor.gamespy.com/ffn/index.php?date=2001-11-29)
A must for any D&D/RPG fan.

I've always really liked Awkward Zombie (http://www.awkwardzombie.com/). The artist has a real sense of making comics and expressions, it never fails to make me grin or crack up in tears.
Also, less updated than used to but still pleasantly philosophical and timeless is Bolt City's (http://www.boltcity.com/) Copper comic. Just good fun comics that can make you think. Great stuff.

Lackadaisy Cats (http://www.lackadaisycats.com/) I've only read a few pages so I'm not sure what it's about but the art is ridiculously beautiful.

Best comic ever. He's a doctor. He's a Ninja! He can kill you and then heal you! There was another comic that was, imo, insanely awesome, called Gone With the Blastwave, but the main site seems to have been taken down :(. I'll dig around for it.

I've spied several of my faves in here already (The Abominable Charles Christopher, PBF, XKCD, Dinosaur Comics, etc), but here are some ones that haven't been posted yet.
MS Paint Adventures (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6). Each comic (there are several different storylines) acts as a parody of adventure and RPG games. It's pretty freakin' awesome, and very entertaining.
Kukuburi (http://www.kukuburi.com/v2/2007/08/09/one/). A colorful adventure in a strange world.

Sorry to necro this page, but I have something to add.
http://www.bouletcorp.com/blogen/
This is the new english version of "Boulet"s online Webcomic/blog. He's a well known french comic artist/writer. It only has one page from 2003 right now since the english translation has open today. (The original french blog http://www.bouletcorp.com/blog/ has about 5 years of content, that will be gradually translated on the english blog) It's mainly a series of short comics talking about the every day life of a comic artist. (Something I'm sure a lot of people here can identify with ^_^ )

zuda comics (http://zudacomics.com/explore/all/all/az) is a great website... not really your traditional "webcomic" site, instead its like a library of different comics of different genres. Some of them are only 8 pages though because its a competition website, and only the instant winners or those who get the most votes will continue on the website with more pages:
two of my favorites, here's one that won:
http://zudacomics.com/node/622
here's a fav of mine but lost so its only 8pgs:

Damn, i didn't know about the meek! Its beautiful! And it has tittie shots the first 20 pages, which passes as a good graphic novel in my book! ;)
Personal favorites are XKCD and User friendly.
Then there's the "mainstream" ones like penny arcade, pvponline and ctrlaltdel, although the latter isn't really THAT great, it has some funny panels. I also liked a comic called wapsi square way back, but it got very convoluted and hard to follow at some point, so i gave up.

Some of my favs that haven't been mentioned already: Girls with Slingshots (http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html) and Something Positive (http://somethingpositive.net). Enjoy!

Since we're on the topic of webcomics, I was wondering if anyone could remind me of one. I seem to have forgotten the name. It's really dirty, and much of it revolves around this one character who's a necrophiliac. He's also a pedophile I think, and it's kind of black humour.
Never mind, found it again. It's Sexy Losers (http://sexylosers.com/)
And I'm surprised no one has mentioned VGcats (http://vgcats.com/) yet?
