Hi everyone,

I'm Alex, and I'm attending Laguna College of Art and Design. I'm majoring in Animation with a minor in Illustration.

I would LOVE to improve, so any critique would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I like doing studies of Glen Keane's artwork, so you'll find a few sketches in here that look like his work. In no way do I own the original images, nor any of the Disney characters. I just find it important to study his style, because I would like to work in the same field.

Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry if the first post is so long, I assure you, these are all drawings I have done recently this summer. I'm new at this, so here's hoping I did it right. I apologize if the lighting of the drawings are odd, I took them with my digital camera.

This first set is from June and July Weekly Saturday Figure Drawing Workshop at LCAD.

Great start man, You are one lucky duck to be studying under her. I would probably kill for that chance. My crit. I would say focus more on the proportions. You seem to handle value and edges pretty well. Form looks good. However if the proportions are off you will still have problems. It looks like you go into it with a pen or something later. Just try to get those proportions right first, then everything else will flow reaahhhl nice!
Keep posting! Good luck on the journey!

@Sirkenneth

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look! :) I'm extremely grateful to have studied under her.

I'm surprise at the compliment about values, because I think I'm weaker with those than my lines. You're right, I have a lot to work on proportions. It seems that I need to work mostly on the length of the limbs, and the size of the heads. Is that about right? Or is there more I should work on?

I'm also trying to wrap my lines around more to create depth.

Thanks again for stopping by and for the nice wishes. :)

Another big art dump. I should try to upload more, so the dump isn't as big.

These are from my sketch book.

Haha, yeah, I keep making such huge post. I'm sorry if it's troublesome. Thanks so much for the lovely compliment. I'm still astonish that people say that, because people value work in my classes are so much better, so I still have a lot to improve.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad you said something even though you consider yourself a beginner. I still consider myself as a beginner. :x Thanks for the welcome, and I hope to see your work around too. :)

Here are some studies of Ron Husband's sketches. There's also a few sketches from posemaniacs as well as stuff I saw in my car while I was waiting for my boyfriend.

Great studies so far! Keep working on your values and try to do some more detailed studies on areas of the body that you'd like to learn more about. Like hands, feet, portraits, etc. Keep up the good work! ;)

I see good progress - I wonder if I see HOpe Railey's influence in your figures.. you are lucky to have her as a teacher! keep up the practice !!

@dierat Thanks for stopping by and giving such a great tip! I tend to draw the whole body a lot and forget to practice the individual parts! So I'll try to do that more often. Thanks again.

@kevinwueste Haha, thanks. Progress and improvement is the key, so I'm glad it's there. :) There has definitely been a lot of influence from Hope. :)

I'll definitely keep practicing. :) Let's hope that progress and improvement will keep coming out of it. Thanks for stopping by!

@Demon Lizardman

Thanks for stopping by and for the nice compliment. :) I'm not sure if it's a cow skull or not to be honest. :x I think its some kind of animal that's related to a deer or something.
