Alright, this used to happen with my CS3 as well. Every few days it's like photoshop decides to reset all the brushes I've uploaded and my workplace layouts and my preferences of using pixels instead of inches for canvas size, all that jazz. It's like after a certain amount of hours it just decides to reset everything to factory settings. Anyone know how to fix this? I get really tired of reuploading my 900+ brushes and turning on my tool preset/history sidebars and such.

Have you tried saving your workspace? It's in the menu "Window" - "Workspace" - "Save Workspace".. A little window pops up asking you to put the name of the workspace, and several other options (tick all of them, just in case).

That works, I've done it before but as you said it only saves the workspace... not my brushes, or my preferences of using the 'precise' color picker over the original, little things like that... oh well.

Hmmm, verify that the folder that CS4 uses for prefs is "owned" by your account and that you have read, write, modify, etc permissions to it and sub-folders and files.

Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. I'm read and write on every folder. I guess my computer's just old and wonky.
