Hi,
My name is Leon. Here is my sketchbook. I have been signed up here for a while but I get lost in all these forum things. I have selected some pages form about 12 sketchbooks I have done in the past 24months. I have heaps more but this took enough time to just scan and upload these. I like having a go at everything. Characters, building, cars, environments etc. I have sooooo much to learn in such a short time. comments would be cool. thanks for looking!

Hey Leon, cool sketchbook man! Got a good variety of subject matter, looks like you've got a knack for things mechanical, like vehicles, spaceships etc. Keep up the hard work, (and try make Saturdays sketch group, haha!).

thanks mate. Yeah I deliberately try to diversify my subject matters. Also I do most of my sketching on the train to and from uni thats why they sometimes look over worked...and I have a bad habit of 'chicken scratching' my lines. Yeah I will try and make sketch group next week ;)

Hi Hungry_wombat! Yeah I have been doing a lot of airships over the years. I have some other designs that I have been doing for the past 4 years. I will upload them.

Here are some designs I did early 2006. Ship designs. I got to admit I think flying ships are a cool idea. This was probably vaguely inspired by treasure planet but my designs don't really have any resemblance.

Heya Leon! Love that first environment, so much lovely detail! And the farm one is fantastic, were you actually there or did you just make it up?
The birds look fantastic, really well developed shading and everything. Woop!

Hey Loz! your on Signed up. cool. The first environment I did from my head. I had done a few similar pieces before I ended up with that one. The farm picture is actually a real place. It was such a wonderful day I just had to sketch it. Its been a while since I have done a sketch like that. Before Uni I only painted and drew landscapes and flowers.haha. The bird picture is a rare curlew that only exists in Australia. The Curlews nest on the ground but because of feral animals they are dying out. Its an original composition with a lot of help from many several bird books and references.
