what are you nervous about? those are some awesome works. i like the fireball and dragon pieces specially, they have a very interesting point of view and style. the screaming guy and the fire/explosion thing looks a bit unfinished compared to your other works, but even then they're great.
wanna see more :P

Bloody impressive thanks for sharing!

Awesome work Jeff. The sleeping dragon one is very very nice. Maybe saturate a focal point a bit more than the rest but that's a definite "Save as> Inspiration folder". The improvements you made since I've been following your work is very inspiring. Great work Jeff.

My favorite is definitely the female knight on the green background. It's a wonderful composition and great energetic background. I think they compliment each other well. I'm going to guess the first image is a self portrait, and is my least favorite. Picking a face and body type to go with a theme is much like casting an actor for a movie role. The first image is well painted, but lacks the correct character. No offense to you, but it looks like a Halloween costume, not very believable.

Great stuff, altho some of your work could use some more saturation and contrast.
Best wishes, Ice

There's a real kinda zen feel to these, and I love your interpretation for some of the pieces (like the jagged shapes coming out of his head)
There's a lot of movement in many of the ones posted and are really dynamic - makes me wanna get off my chair and run around a bit lol
and the more zen ones are fairly static and exude calm and stillness - I love them, thank you for sharing :)

Nice to see some more New Zealanders!
all an honour for your feedback.
I've just started using painter! so fun!
I made a little story for this one:
A representative of the outsiders has come asking for help
(has only one guard to accompany him.)
The elder tree outright refuses, since they've been killing their people for thousands of years.
The forest dwellers also look on in disgust. D:
oh! i'm also looking for work if anyones interested :)

WOW Jeff. Really nice use of Painters Artist's Oils Impasto (I'm guessing here by looking at the strokes). Really nice Jeff.
September 10th, 2009, 10:23 PM
I know it's not necessarily the most complicated thing, but your mastery of values is what gets me. Your colors are great, don't get me wrong, but your ability to use your values to TELL me where to look, not even just suggest, is really great.
Do your paintings ever start out as gray scale?
September 12th, 2009, 01:45 AM
Wow these are nice. I dig the strokes, it really commands attention. Nice energetic strokes! I dig it. Thanks for sharing Jeff. I would love to save these to my inspiration folder, I hope you don't mind if I save these.

um probably about time I updated with something
heres just a few pics I've recently done
(I usually update my sketchbook more)
man i've got to get better!
Just to answer the previous questions
Jason Ross: Thanks Jason :)
Quigleyer: Thank you! thats very nice of you to say. Usually I start off with one colour as a base, and then just keep adding from there
Beelow: Thank you! i'm glad they inspire you! (quite the compliment there)
heres their response to the previous pic :)
This is Calathea, another one of the elder tree spirits.
She controls most of the Northern tropical borders of the forest
where she renews the boundaries to keep outside visitors out.
she has her spiritual minions to do her bidding
I was watching this documentary about Mongolia, and this family was going to perform a ritual. These monks also joined in.
'Mankind plunders the earth for her treasures, thus driving the spirits away. We pray to bring them back.'
I really liked this quote. So i'll have to edit into the story!
and just some goblins. can't trust'em!
