Project Details
This ad is for assistance in the production and creation of an as-of-yet unnamed graphic novel series. Im looking for a few rough character designs and some input to begin with. There is a basic idea and plot to follow but like i said I am looking for help in creating this and would like this project to be just as much yours as it is mine.
Set in modern-day San Francisco, the story follows a mid- to late-20's SFPD Metro Homicide Inspector who discovers years earlier that he was born with the ability to rapidly heal himself (Think Wolverine, minus the claws, tights and funky haircut). He keeps this secret to himself, but it was come to his advantage many times over the years. Now an established Inspector who has become quite infamous because of his tactics, he must track down a new murderer whos Modus operandi is killing drifters and removing the heart. All the bodys were completely drained of blood, and now the Inspector believes there just may be a vampire loose in the Bay.
That is the basic plot idea for the first book in the series. There are ideas for other villains/enemies in the other books, but for now focus is on this idea. Basically, I want to show how a real person in the real world would react to finding out they have "super" powers. While most would use their powers for personal gain, as is explored through the series, this man, an Inspector sworn to protect, uses it to do just that, protect the city all while trying to protect his secret.
As far as visual style goes, I'm looking for a gritty, B&W noir feel. Sin City-ish with your own personal touches. Feel free to email or post any rough character sketches. Inspector would be African-American, fit/muscular but realistic; villain would be white, brooding, creepy (he is also a fisherman, take that into consideration). Use your imagination!
