Hello to you all,
My name is Melanie and I'm a concept artist and animator for a project called "Renegade". The project's goal is to provide with a strong piece of portfolio but also to give us (and maybe you?) an opportunity to create a more ambitious product than what we could achieve individually.
Renegade is planned as a demo, rather then a full game: A demo being quite enough to demonstrate the quality of our game designers, programmers and artists alike.
The project is still in it's early stages, but well on it's way. In order to make the task more manageable, we're looking for some extra artists to join our team:
2 animators:
Your portfolio should have at least 1 walkcycle animation as well as a lipsynk.
You may animate in the medium of your choice as long as you can export the final animation in .gif format and that it can emulate the style (inking/colors/etc) of the game.
Though your main task will be to animate, you’re also welcomed to contribute (but not forced) to the concept art.
1 concept artist:
Your portfolio should demonstrate your abilities at drawing backgrounds, your knowlege of anatomy as well as some coloring/painting skills. Character sheets and scenaries are an asset.
We give priority to artists living in Quebec city or surrounding areas as we have occasional in-person meetings but if you can assure us you'll be able to keep up with the deadlines, then we might just be able to make an exception. We're not asking anyone to work full time, but we're expecting people to put a couple of hours of work per week so that the project doesn't stagnate. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TIME... Heck, sleep on it before proposing yourself, making a video game is quite a lot of work.
You may send your portfolios with a presentation letter at melaniembourgeois (at) hotmail.com. Make sure you've included everything requested out of the position you want to apply for or I won't foward your portfolio to our Art director.
You can read more about our project at our development blog:

Here's some art of the game to give you an idea of what we're looking for:
