For once I am working out the composition before I commit any colors to it. I want the final image to convey the feeling of working out an image at a desk. C&C welcome, especially along the lines of layout, colors, etc.

thats really nice. as soon as i looked at it, it made me wanna go and draw the exact same thing but that of course it would be devoid of originality.

The pose seesm to need a bit more work. Is she meant to be reclining in a chair? At the moment it almost appears that she is walking with her hands behind her head.
To do with the composition, it generally feels to 'controlled' to me. Personally when I'm brainstorming for ideas my workspace becomes a mess of pens, pencils, reference books etc. Add some clutter and chaos.
As for the expression, perhaps less of a smile. This is optional - because again, personally I always look a bit more stressed or confused when working out a idea.
She seems very content and relaxed.
