did it for an online friend.
i wanted to make it somewhat cartoonish, but the only things turning out that way were the face, the sword and maybe the arms.i have drawn males for such a long time i still find it pretty difficult to draw a woman(obviously).
yeah,well...the arms bug me the most, and that i cannot render convincingly enough yet(in my eyes).
her left foot also doesn't look quite as good, but i guess that's because i lost interest.doodled far too long with the sword(although the idea isn't completely new;)).the wings are meant to be vestigial.
that said,i'm open to other crits.if anyone wants to colour it,he/she's ofcourse free to it!:D
edit: oh yeah,i didn't want to conceal her left wing,so i did the stone transparent there;)

Good start, but all I can say is to get some reference for the anatomy.
Do the basics right first and every thing else will be alot easier and more convincing. Plan the image with some stick figures etc and then you won't have to make the stone transparent.

*bump*
sorry, you wouldn't believe how often i've heard this with the basics now,and it's slowly getting on my nerves.
i always start with a stick figure.this time i just got so much into rendering i completely forgot she's gotta lean onto something not to fall aside.
you can't know that, but "good start" is somewhat stupid, coz i've already been drawing alot more than that.no offense taken though.thanx.:)
still waiting for more comments.

I must say, youve gotten alot better in a short time. Listening to CAers pays off no? :D
Anyways, i just want to let you know that i went/am going through, the same stuff as you, getting away from comic-like drawing and such. Keep it up, its worth it.
And its in pencil, so you should be able to erase part of the wing and draw in the rock, no?

you improve. continue to do so.
unfortunately, it's still not convincing. your grasp of anatomy has certainly improved (dramatically), but i think you can do better.
problems:
the character's arms are entirely too slender, beyond even the realm of exagerration.
the legs somehow don't look right... it looks like one is longer than the other. that might be the sleep deprivation talking though.
wings, wings. i'm going to have to say check anatomy on that. seriously, find some hi res images of bat wings and check out the finer details. they're basically hands with really long fingers. thin fingers, there are no thick parts.
keep it up, seriously. you're improving in ways i can't understand.

the funny thing is,i intended just to make it comic-like,but ended up just the contrary(well almost);)

maybe,but i won't do this now.that doesn't mean i don't care about your opinion,but that i (almost) never change things on pictures i've finished.

yeah...beside feet,arms are still my biggest problem.and shading still,because i often don't care too much about it.:smirk:
