I did this one after seeing justin sweet and shishizaru's amazing work. I wanted to shoot for a similar method of painting. c&c welcome.

great job on rendering the flame thrower...however the helmet is a little flat....push so darker values in under the face part....just my suggestion

Completely agree with Jack, the helmet is very flat, it almost blend into the flamethrower. Perhaps adding some 'cooler' colour to the flamethrower will the helemt forward.

Plus the flame could possibly use some more heat. eg: where the barrel of the flamethrower is the flame would probably be at it's hottest, so this could easily be even lighter (maybe even some blue heat)

Good design and atmosphere though.

I really like this one, at first it reminded me of some totally cyper punked out version of Fahrenheitt 451, this is really cool man!

but seriously... heh.. really good stuff, this reminds me of WH40K box art, though i'd like to see clearer edges and less blur, but that's the only problem i see, EVERYTHING else is spot on and excellent dude, nj.

Fromthe title i was hoping for some jim carrey. O well, nice render. I would liike to see more angles on him.

hey thanks alot for comments everyone. here're 2 more I did a few days ago. it's actually some old concepts for a flash animation done last year. I decided to repaint it cause I wasn't very happy with the old coloring. I'm going for something messy and fast.
