Hey all,

I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced lag and hang ups in PS:CS3 for no apparent reason. Up until about a week ago, Photoshop ran smooth as silk, now it doesn't and I can't find a reason or a solution to the problem. It's extremely frustrating, and costing me in time and money.

I'm really not sure what occurred to cause PS to slow it's pace, but it could be related to a lockup PS had last week, but I'm not entirely sure.

I've reinstalled Photoshop several times. Updated video drivers, wacom drivers, turned off anti-spyware, anti-virus, and backup software (all of which were running before the slowdown) and still no luck. I've adjusted mem usage, history and cache levels, as well as scratch disks within the program to no avail.

I'm at my wits end with this and would love to find a solution that doesn't involve a system format. If anybody has encountered this and found a solution, I'd be greatful to hear it.

Thanks.

try defragging the harddrives that photoshop uses as a scratch disk, lowering seek times.

save more often.

allocate more RAM % to photoshop.

also, periodically hitting TAB and hiding/showing the menus helps a bit, as does disabling the ruler- CTRL-R.

Perhaps you are working too high-res.

Perhaps your brushes have spacing that's less than, oh, 10%.

Lemme know if any of this works, yeah?
