Another loss of a great talent. Graphic artist Heinz Edelmann passed away on July 21st. He was famously known as the Art Director on the film "The Yellow Submarine" as well as an influential artist of covers and posters.

Thanks DBClemons. I nearly missed this... what a sad loss. His visuals kind of defined an era really... When I started in animation I used to work with a couple of guys who'd animated on Yellow Submarine.

yes a truly tragic loss. I remember that the coverdesigns for my copy of the lord of the rings were really impressing me. I just now found out they actually were from him-

This is truly a sad loss. This man was one of my inspirations when I was a young pup, and was arguably one of the driving forces behind what was probably one of the most creative and experimental eras in 20th century art/design.
